Long way to the top quilt

With this quilt I've used a semi abstract representation of green tree frogs climbing up a giant gum tree.
Like most of us, the top is out of reach, but we are
happy enough in our comfort zone. climbing the
required amount to sustain our lifestyle.

I found a useful pack of Japanese fabric off-cuts at a local Melbourne shop dealing exclusively with this type of fabric. The earthy colours evoke a sense of mud and bark. The greens represent the various mosses of a rain forest; the frogs natural habitat.

The frogs are printed on cream cotton, and are attached using needle turned applique onto a crazy patchwork panel.

Leaping frog is printed on a 12x8 inch or 30 x20 cm block
Facing and side on frog are printed on 7 inch or 18cm squares.
